Today by increasing life expectancy, chronic disease is considered as primary health problem. Restoring health is a primary therapeutic goal for patients and all interventions are directed toward improving their Quality of life.
It was a descriptive study .census sampling was used. Data was gathered by using Questionnaire short form (SF- 36). This tool , is a generic questionnaire consisting of 36 questions covering eight aspects of health status : physical functioning ,role physical , bodily pain , general Health , vitality , social functioning , role emotional , and mental health. Second part of questionnaire contained demographic data, such as (sex, age, area of living, marital status, literacy, kind of job, family incomes, number of children).
40 clients after 2 months from bypass operation were our samples. They were physically able to answer the questions, literate and fluent in Farsi language.
Result: from 40 patients, 60 % were female, 85% lives in the town and 100% were married. the question relating to each area are summed and rescaled to a 100 point scale , where 100 is the best possible score and zero the worst possible.
Finding showed that, generally, Quality of Life in Patients is good and highest mean score was related to social function and the lowest mean score was about general health.
Rehabilitation program is very useful for all of clients with chronic disease .and it need to improve for restoring health status and increasing life expectancy. in this way patient education is most important. And nurse's role to guide patients is so good sources of information. And Nurses have the power to impart emancipatory knowledge, knowledge that frees patients from anxiety, pain, and suffering.
